I cut part of my finger tip off

I accidentally cut part of my right index finger off with a 1-blade folding utility knife (had to look up exactly what to call it). Anyways, I was working in the field training with one of our soil techs. I recently started a new rotation at my job where I'll be in the field testing soil compaction for various projects. We were taking a break so I left the job site and pulled into a shopping center parking lot. I was planning on looking for a battery for my key fob for my car since it's been needing a replacement for a while. I previously bought one battery but realized later it needed two. Well, I put off getting another battery for a while because I'm lazy, it seemed to still be working ok, and I wanted to see how long it can last before it craps out and I get stuck not being able to lock or start my car (it's one of those button start cars with a remote fob). Well my car almost didn't want to start so I decided I should probably finally get another battery (Well idiot you probably should've got the battery long ago even if you were going to wait until it craps out don't you think?). Well I was parked in the parking lot and was pretty sure of what battery type I needed but wanted to make sure by opening the fob up. So I tried to open it with the blade stupidly and sliced part of my finger off. It didn't bleed or hurt immediately and I was just kinda stunned for a little bit. A little bleeding started and I put a napkin against it and that held. I decided to go home to take care of it, and during the drive I noticed it was bleeding a lot all over my finger and the napkin was barely holding it from gushing. I made it home, cleaned it up, wrapped it with a bunch of medical tape (it was bleeding thru that too) and then more medical tape. That held as I went back to work letting my trainer know I had a minor emergency and would be a bit late coming back. We finished up and I eventually went home, took the tape off, then wrapped it with some regular bandages. It doesn't hurt much. It just stings a little when some pressure is applied. I know this story is a lot of fluff, but yeah my fingertip is slightly deformed. It was a tiny piece but I don't think it can grow back properly. I'm sure it'll be fine. Oh well. Life.

I was driving up the street from my job to pick up some food from a restaurant for a meeting I lead when I saw people on almost all corners of a busy intersection and in the median at the stop lights holding signs to raise money for a funeral. The signs said something about a funeral for a guy that got killed in a car accident and I'm thinking "It's a little ironic to be in the middle of a busy intersection for someone who died in a car accident and there's a lot of crazy drivers out here and you put yourself in danger with so much traffic. Someone holding a sign was actually walking in the crosswalk when it really wasn't okay to be crossing at the time since traffic on the other side of the street had a green light. It would be so embarrassing if one of them got hit. I'm sorry for your loss and all but stop with the begging for money in the middle of busy intersections. Do people actually give money there? Where Dem Blacks?

I've been at my job for a year now and I'm like the only black person in the office. There's actually a black field guy that I've never seen but I know he's black because I saw his Facebook when I looked someone else up and saw he was a friend of that person (No, I don't stalk people.........😐). Over the year I did see a black girl getting a tour of the office and later in the year there was a black guy I saw walking around the office for a few days. Maybe they're working upstairs or in another building, but I have not seen them again. We have two two-story buildings but it's not real big. Overall it is a good sized company which has offices in a few other western states (2 in CA, 1 in AZ, and 2 in ID). There's enough people in the Las Vegas office that there should be more black people around. If they are here I should see them at least once in a while, but I highly doubt they are here. Memory Lanes

Not much going on so I'll reminisce. In my freshman high school Spanish class one assignment was to do a report on a foreign country. I'm not sure if it was just to report facts about the country or create a fictional visit there. Either way it was obviously to be written in Spanish, but we also were to draw the flag of that country on a poster board as part of the presentation. Well I chose Scotland since I was a fan of them in the FIFA video games. For the flag I colored it purple instead of blue only because the soccer team wore purple. I think I knew it was supposed to be blue and wanted to make it blue, but went ahead with purple anyway since I guess I convinced myself that the uniforms were the correct color for the flag. This was before easy access to internet for us ('98), so I couldn't just do a quick google search (or Ask Jeeves as it were at the time) to look it up.
