Panhandling for a Funeral
I was driving up the street from my job to pick up some food from a restaurant for a meeting I lead when I saw people on almost all corners of a busy intersection and in the median at the stop lights holding signs to raise money for a funeral. The signs said something about a funeral for a guy that got killed in a car accident and I'm thinking "It's a little ironic to be in the middle of a busy intersection for someone who died in a car accident and there's a lot of crazy drivers out here and you put yourself in danger with so much traffic. Someone holding a sign was actually walking in the crosswalk when it really wasn't okay to be crossing at the time since traffic on the other side of the street had a green light. It would be so embarrassing if one of them got hit. I'm sorry for your loss and all but stop with the begging for money in the middle of busy intersections. Do people actually give money there? There are so many people with signs begging for money here in Vegas. I give occasionally but it's annoying. I even saw a younger person later in the day holding a sign. He seemed well-capable of making money legitimately but I guess it's fair game out here. I hate to see people struggling but I hate when they go in the middle of traffic begging for money. Stop it.
I used to give back when I first moved to Charlotte. But then I figured since I'm black I deserve reparations so stopped giving. lol
ReplyDeleteNice, way to justify it using the race card. But do you give to the blacks? I don't. Not even the young ones in front of the grocery store asking to support their basketball team. I feel bad when I decline but I get over it quick
Deletelol no. i felt bad one time this black teen was trying to sell his mixtape. i should have told him to learn to code, but just said no and kept walking
