Check Engine Light
The check engine light in my car finally went off after being on for a while. I don't think I'm out of the woods yet because I don't feel like I quite addressed what's really going on with the car. Well, I thought I was good once I added coolant, but I did think it was strange that I had to add the whole bottle and it still didn't quite fill to the line it's supposed to. I suspected I may have a leak but I decided to just keep going and see what happens. Well, the car was behaving better for a little bit but the check engine light was still coming on. The car wouldn't overheat anymore and act up like it was doing before I added the coolant. But sure enough after a week or two the overheating light started coming on again. I went to the auto store and got some more coolant and added it. I'm not sure if the coolant was lower or if I just didn't add enough coolant before. Well, not too long afterwards the car started going crazy again. This time it decided to start cutting off while I was on the road, but only as I was stopped. It would start up again right away but it was repeatedly doing that this one trip. When I got home I added more coolant. After this time it seemed to be running fine, but the check engine light still was coming on. I still figure I may have a leak so if problems continue I'll take it in to have it checked out. It's been maybe a week or so but the car has been running fine. But tonight it was the first time in a while that the check engine light did not come on. I made several trips today and the light still hasn't come back on. Maybe my car got tired of telling me to check the engine and me not doing anything about it. I don't know. But like I said, I do anticipate something is still not quite right and I'll end up taking it in to a shop soon. For now I'll enjoy the no check engine light coming on when I start the car and think nothing is wrong. Positive thinking.
